Hidden in the mountainous regions of the small coastal country of Travane is a rare ore that when ground and added to clayware strengthens it far beyond normal. This ore, known as Kyran, reacts with various additives to transform the earthen clayware into distinctive hues that cannot be produced any other way. The trade of Kyran to the rest of the Continent, and especially the decorative wares produced solely in Travane, once made the land prosperous. However, the secret to making the most scarce and precious form of clayware, Royal Kyran, was lost a century ago. It is foretold that the formula will only be restored to the people when the One of Legend appears.

With times now treacherous, as the son of the RioArd is entangled in a deceptive scheme that will destroy the country, the common people are restless and grow in discontent.
